Against natural hazards: Geobrugg Systems guarantee a maximum level of safety

Our protection systems against rockfall, slope instabilities, landslips, debris flows and snow avalanches are based upon scientifically grounded field tests and dimensioning concepts, proved in practice. With our know-how from related areas of application we support ordering parties, planners and building contractors, also with respect to combined protection measures.

Flexible ring net barriers as debris flow barriers: The economic solution

Our flexible debris flow barriers withstand high static and dynamic loads. They can be installed with low material and man hour outlay, massively reducing costs and construction time. They stand in the channel in the unfilled state and provide retention space which can stop large quantities of debris flow material. A basal opening permits unobstructed water flow in the normal case.

Rock face stabilization with the new QUAROX® spiral rope net

Rock break-outs from an impressive dolomitic limestone rock above the Italian town of Roccella Valdemone have constantly endangered lives and infrastructure. Rockfall barriers alone were unable to solve this problem. So the decision was made to provide additional rock face stabilization with the new QUAROX® high-tensile spiral rope net Compared to traditional wire rope nets it adapts itself better to the nature of the rock face and large surfaces can be covered from rolls of 30 x 3.5 m.

Field tests with shallow landslides in combination with flexible protection nets

Our flexible shallow landslide barriers of high-tensile steel wire can be used to protect private housing, roads and rail lines as a low-cost alternative to massive concrete structures. Comprehensive 1:1 tests in collaboration with the WSL / ETH in three testing installations have verified the function of these shallow landslide barriers.

See here the television report on our last shallow landslide test in Swiss News on 23.8.2009
