SPIDER® spiral rope nets, the economical alternative to wire rope nets in weathered rock slopes with large boulders
 



SPIDER®, the novel spiral rope net, stabilizes rock spurs, overhangs or single large, weathered, unstable rock formations. Four elements make up the SPIDER® rock protection system:

 

  • Spiral rope nets made from high-tensile alloyed Ø 4 mm steel wire

  • Large diamond-shaped mesh
    with 3.4 meshes per running meter permit spanning ridges and rock spurs.  
     

  • Rolls 
    from 3.5 m wide and 20 m long. Weight per roll 190 kg.

  • SPIDER® system spike plate
    Type P11 for fixing single meshes to subsoil
    Type P33 large spike plate reinforced with stiffening ribs for active stabilization  

  • Shackles 3/8"
    For connecting the net panels and for fastening onto the boundary ropes.

  • Soil or rock nails
    All commercially available grouted anchor bar products can be used.
