Net applications: safety fences (e.g. for stairwells, towers, bridges and observation platforms) and escape protection

Net applications - Geobrugg’s safety fences (e.g. for stairwells, towers, bridges and observation platforms), barriers and animal enclosures as well as net- and mesh-based cladding for building facades

Where durability and stability need to meld with esthetically pleasing geometry, Geobrugg nets are often the only solution.

Geobrugg’s safety fences (e.g. for stairwells, towers, bridges and observation platforms), barriers and animal enclosures as well as net- and mesh-based cladding for building facades not only fulfill all safety requirements but have also proven themselves as architectural elements in their own right. Their long-lasting stability also makes them superior to conventional materials.

All of Geobrugg’s nets and meshes are manufactured from high-tensile steel wire with a minimum tensile strength of 1770 N/mm2 in each single wire. They are available in different mesh widths and wire strengths and can be customized in accordance with mesh geometry. GALFAN and stainless steel versions are available.

Architect
Scholl Architekten GmbH, Germany

Project
Mounted on the roof of the gymnasium in the district of Jungbusch in Mannheim is a play ground. For this Geobrugg has developed a combination ball catching net and safety fence. The construction comprises arched circular tube sections clad with ROMBO high-tensile steel wire mesh, centrally stabilized by a ring rope. The roofing in the form of a crown has become a visual landmark.
